President Higgins visit to NZ Rugby Headquarters

Last month, the President addressed members of the Irish Community in Auckland.

In his speech at this event, the last one of the President's State Visit to New Zealand, the President spoke of the importance of using the Irish language and respecting culture.

He also thanked those who looked after Irish and other immigrants, and encouraged members of the Irish diaspora to stay in touch with relatives and friends in Ireland.

Labhair an tUachtarán leis an bpobal Éireannach in Auckland. Ina aitheasc ar an ócáid sin, an ceann deireanach de Chuairt Stáit an Uachtaráin chuig an Nua-Shéalainn, labhair an tUachtarán ar an tábhacht a bhaineann leis an nGaeilge a úsáid agus le meas a thaispeáint don chultúr.

Ghlac sé buíochas, freisin, leo siúd a rinne cúram d’inimircigh Éireannacha agus eile, agus spreag sé baill an diaspóra Éireannaigh fanacht i dteagmháil le gaolta agus cairde in Éirinn.
